A large-scale marine and logistics organisation is seeking a Senior HSEQ Specialist to drive safety performance across operations.
About the role
Working for a highly diverse and successful maritime and logistics business, you will operate as a subject matter expert. Delivering high level technical services to the business you will ensure both legal compliance and ongoing performance improvements. In order to be successful in this position, you must have a proven track record of delivering culture change, preferably within a high-risk industrial setting.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Corporate HSSEQ, you will assist in the implementation of the HSEQ strategy. Beyond compliance you upgrade operations and gain/maintain international ISO standards. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of HSEQ management systems, as well as the ability to engage and influence at all levels of an organisation.
Duties will include:
Provide day to day HSSEQ technical support various business units and Operational Managers
Manage the ongoing compliance and retention of ISO/OHSAS international standards
Raise HSEQ engagement in rive continual improvements
Collaborate with client HSE departments, ensuring positive outcomes across multiple projects
Conduct technical training to management and personnel to understand and implement zero harm management strategies
Create bespoke policy and technical procedures
Lead Safety investigations and provide high level technical evaluation/reports
Act as a technical specialist for environmental matters
Manage special projects in order to facilitate improvement for onshore and offshore operations
Skills and experience to include:
Degree qualified in HSEQ or a related field.
Significant industry experience with a minimum of 5 years at management level
Extensive experience with ISO management systems including 14001, 9001 and OHSAS18001
Experience of working within heavy industry (e.g. Oil & Gas, Marine, Mine, Port, Power Generation, Manufacturing)
High level engagement/communication skills, able to coach, influence and drive change.
Commercially aware with business acumen
