HSE Advisor – Te Puke, Bay of Plenty

Seeking a proactive, experienced health, safety and environmental advisor for a rare opportunity in the beautiful Bay of Plenty
The company
A premier produce company with orchards, packhouses and supply chain facilities throughout the upper North Island, our client is proactive in providing a safe environment for growers, permanent staff and seasonal workers.
The role
In this busy environment, the successful applicant will be able to manage their own time and workload but with the support of the Group Health and Safety Manager who the role reports to.
Excellent communication skills will ensure that you are able to continue the good work already done in mentoring and supporting staff and management on their journey to safety always. A solid level of experience and expertise in a manufacturing or process safety environment is an advantage along with an absolute commitment to best practice and the continued development of employee engagement.
Duties
* Assist with development and implementation of annual safety plans
* Review HSE systems and recommend improvements as required
* Implement and deliver internal audit programmes
* Work with Managers and Supervisors, providing support and guidance on non-compliance
* Conduct regular site inspections
* Assist with Injury Management and Return to Work programmes
* Develop Risk Management framework to meet legislative and good practice requirements
* Monitor and analyse accident and incident reporting trends
* Attend and support HSE committee meetings on site.
Skills and experience
* Minimum Level 4 OSH Certificate
* Thorough understanding of legislation and the HSWA 2015
* Solid experience in a similar environment
* Investigation experience and relevant qualification (i.e. ICAM)
* Exceptional planning and organisational skills
* Well developed written and verbal communication
* Experience with Vault would be an advantage
