About the role

The primary function of this role is to provide mentoring, coaching and expertise in the areas of health, safety and the environment. This is a role with a twist though, that touches on other parts of the business, through procurement and sustainability.

As the Advisor, you will provide hands on and user-friendly safety advice and guidance, leading by example in this manufacturing environment. Responsible for the day to day administration and communication, this is an all-encompassing safety role.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will be familiar with working in a multi-site environment, manufacturing experience is a must and you will be key in building and facilitating multi-site collaboration. An understanding of 24/7 operations and the part this plays in effective safety would be ideal.

As the sole HSE professional onsite, you’ll take responsibility for maintaining and documenting ISO 14001 and 9001 requirements, reviewing and updating safety documentation, contractor management and return to work / injury management programmes and initiatives.

This role also contains a component of procurement and sustainability related to the industry, training will be provided and this will make up about 15% of the role.

Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety

Solid manufacturing experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills

ICAM certified preferred

Proven experience in leading a proactive and focussed safety culture

Ability to influence at a strategic level
