The way we work needs strong safety leadership.

We work at heights, within confined spaces, handle hazardous substances and operate a range of plant and a large fleet of vehicles. We work remotely, not only in the Nelson/Tasman/Marlborough regions, but throughout New Zealand.

We’re a business of teams; builders, engineers, mechanics, industrial electricians, conservation rangers, gardeners, refuse and recycling operators, landscape designers, architects, landscape construction, arborists, waste-water treatment operators, water service & water construction, and so much more. Our people often get called out when others are asleep and are skilled and equipped to collaborate with Local Authorities and act as first responders for civil emergencies.

As our HSW Business Partner, you’ll have a broad scope from advising and coaching to actively participating in risk management, investigations, reviews and providing pragmatic solutions. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of the health and safety programme, which will see you work with senior management through to the valued frontline team. You’ll partner with operational leaders to support and upskill them in their health and safety knowledge and responsibilities, ensuring compliance with legislative and company procedures and most importantly, you’ll champion and drive a strong safety culture.

You’ll bring your health and safety expertise from similar roles with sound knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best-practice to be the technical go-to expert. With relevant qualifications and the ability to engage and influence in a positive and pragmatic manner, you’ll also not be afraid to challenge status quo. You’ll be up for the challenge as we evolve and develop maturity in our safety practices.

In return we offer competitive salary, investment in your career development, long service leave, access to employee wellbeing & health monitoring programmes and employee discounts.

If you interested in working alongside a diverse range of people who care deeply about community, environment and safety then we would love to hear from you.

Please note that applicants must have a current full drivers’ licence, NZ residency/citizenship or a valid NZ work visa, and will be required to undergo pre-employment medical and drug screening, Ministry of Justice and ACC checks.
