Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough) is the main health provider for Te Tau Ihu, the top of the south. Nearly 3,000 strong, we are the largest employer in the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough region. Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) team provides advice and support to our staff and managers. This role will primarily contribute to the development, delivery, promotion and evaluation of Occupational Health, Workplace Safety and Wellbeing Management Systems for Live Life Disability Support (LLDS) service that supports over 250 people in a variety of residential setting across the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions. The LLDS workforce is made up of more than 300 Support Workers, Team Leaders, administration staff and managers.

We are inviting applications from HS&W professionals, with relevant qualification and experience, who have a sound track record of creating a positive safety culture and meeting the legal obligations of the Health Safety at Work Act 2015, ideally within the context of Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.

Responsibilities will include developing, updating and maintaining safety and wellbeing policies, procedures and processes, reviewing the hazard and risk registers and supporting managers to align systems to comply with ASNZ 4801 and ACC AEP requirements.

Whilst this role is based in Nelson, this position will require travel across the Nelson Marlborough district.

Your qualifications and experience will ideally include the following:

- Diploma OHS Level six(or equivalent)

- NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent)

- Workplace training, or adult education experience

- Safety auditing

- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a multifaceted organisation

- Scoping project requirements and identifying the resources and time required to achieve objectives

Incident investigations

- Workplace training; design and delivery

You will also be adaptable to change with a flexible 'can do' attitude. Experiencing understanding the disability support sector would be desirable.
