About the role

This is an opportunity to join an established safety team, with a focus on the practical; investigations, onsite coaching and auditing. You will balance this with providing trend analysis to the business, maintaining and reporting from the online incident management system and contributing to continuous improvement.

Reporting to the HSQE Manager, this role sits within the contracting division but provides wider support to the corporate team and onsite crews.

Duties

• Provide expert advice to the wider business

• Carry out incident investigations

• Conduct onsite audits

• Manage contractors and sub-contractors to ensure compliance

• Provide forecasting and budget support to the HSQE Manager

• Engage and educate on safe work practices

• Prepare information and assist with delivery at monthly safety meetings

• Conduct toolbox talks as required

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have highly developed communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with external stakeholders. As the subject matter expert and a visible leader of safety you will have the ability to foresee challenges and provide successful outcomes to issues raised.

This role requires the confidence and maturity to speak up for safety, ensure compliance onsite while coaching those who need it and support the administrative portion of the role.

• Experience in the electrical industry is an advantage

• Solid understanding of safety in a civils/infrastructure environment

• Strong communication and engagement skills

• Minimum Level IV National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

• Strong training/ presentation skills are an advantage
