Taitara Mahi – Health & Safety Partner

Permanent + on-call

Hastings District Council is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Partner to join our established Health & Safety Team. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be supporting Council’s Managers with day to day management of health and safety risks, engaging with staff to promote health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, undertaking site audits and inspections and delivering hands on health and safety training.

We would like to have someone join our team who is passionate about Health & Safety and can ‘hit the ground running’. You will be rewarded with constant learning opportunities, working within a close knit, fun and supportive team.

The successful candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in Health & Safety

• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar professional role.

• Excellent communication & persuasion skills

• The ability to build rapport & credibility quickly

• Experience working in a local government environment preferred, however not essential
