Health Safety Environmental Specialist – Sydney (CBD)

Senior advisory level opportunity for a tertiary qualified safety practitioner with 3-5 years proven field experience. Preferably, you will come from a high hazard industry and now seek an office-based role.
The company
A global leader in contractor and supplier management is currently seeking a HSE Specialist to support their expanding operation in Australia, New Zealand and APAC. Based in central Sydney, this is an excellent opportunity for a tertiary qualified safety professional with 3-5 years field experience looking to transition into a corporate role. Working with an international client base there will be regular travel throughout the region and collaborative working with European and US operations.
The role
Working with a ten-man team, this is a cross functional role suited to an up and coming safety professional. In addition to providing HSE expertise to a new and existing client base you will also assist in account management and sales activities. The role is suited to a highly motivated, confident individual with strong communication skills. The successful candidate will have the support of a wider global safety team and report into a Regional HSE Manager.
Duties
* Provide HSE support and guidance to clients
* Research, develop and review safety protocols and legislation
* Provide desktop audits of health and safety programmes, verifying performance
* Support and participate in the company’s continual improvement program, ensuring ISO9001 compliance
* Support account management and new business activities
* Provide leadership and training to new staff
* Conduct advanced training on new products
* 20-40% travel for customer and industry meetings
* Support and contribute to the ongoing development of the business
Skills and experience
* Tertiary qualified
* 3-5 years practical HSE work experience, preferably within an industrial environment
* commercially minded
* Ability to coach and mentor NZ and Aus team members
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
