Port Marlborough are seeking a talented individual who has a passion for making a real difference and can take a lead role in ensuring HSEQ is an integral part of the business.

Port Marlborough is a diverse, forward-thinking port and marina business operating in Picton, Havelock and the wider Marlborough Sounds. Environmental leadership, preventing harm, valuing the accomplishments of their people and engaging with the communities are top priorities.

As a senior HSEQ leader you will be tasked with delivering and supporting a strong systems-based foundation for delivery of cohesive HSEQ management practices across the Port’s dynamic operations. This will include introducing new systems and techniques, embedding practices into the operational environment, supporting colleagues in fostering engagement and contributing strategically to the future direction of the Port’s safety, environmental and quality practices.

You will be relied upon to provide sound guidance and advice, develop and lead initiatives, be a mentor and coach and work collaboratively across all levels. You will be both a subject matter expert and a cultural change agent creating and supporting a positive culture owned by all.

To be successful for this pivotal role you will have HSEQ leadership experience as in a multi-user, high risk environment. You will have demonstrated your ability to apply a system thinking approach across diverse operations, conduct risk assessments, provide pragmatic advice and engage with people across the business. You will also have a thorough working knowledge of the HSE legislation and a relevant qualification.

In addition to your experience, you will have outstanding interpersonal skills, a leadership presence, huge passion with a tenacity for achieving outcomes.
