The Department of Corrections has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join us to be part of work that will truly make a difference to our people and keeping every one of them safe, every day. We are looking for a strong advisor who can identify opportunities and solutions to improve our health, safety and wellbeing service delivery across the business in this newly created role. Providing support across the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Function you will focus on enhancing and simplifying the quality of health and safety information and artefacts to help mitigate risk for our people. To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, you will build solid relationships, and be able to utilise your influencing skills to encourage people to adopt new ideas and ways of operating. You will have a sound understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply this to produce simplified products that reflect good practice across the organisation. Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification to support your technical expertise. In addition, if you have had experience working on project’s in an adviser capacity, developing guidance, training or other front-line products, in a legislatively-driven environment, we would be interested in hearing from you.

Experience in a health and safety-related field, risk bowtie methodology, or business analysis is desirable, but not essential.
