We are seeking an experienced and qualified Health, Safety and Sustainability Advisor to join our team.

About the role

Reporting to the Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager, you will work collaboratively with the wider team, who will guide and support you along the way to drive, influence and imbed health, safety and sustainability into our organisation.

We are currently engaged in various initiatives to align the systems and practices of WelTec and Whitireia. In this role there will be opportunity for you to gain exposure to multiple aspects of health, safety and sustainability in a complex environment. This role is a great way to grow your career.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be customer focused. You will need to have a collaborative approach and be able to tailor your approach to suit a variety of internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be working across all of our campuses, talking with a variety of stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have the following background and experience:

•Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, occupational hygiene or a related field

•Ideally two to five years’ experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role

•A sound working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation

•A successful track record with persuading, coaching and influencing others in health and safety best practice

•A willingness to work independently and as part of a team on key projects

•Strong organising and prioritising skills
