The Opportunity

Reporting to the Safety and Sustainability Specialist, Commercial, the successful candidate will:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the HSE plan supporting best practices, reducing work process risks and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
  • Work closely with frontline managers across multiple sites to provide HSE leadership.
  • Coach and mentor frontline managers to ensure site based HSE compliance.
  • Assist in the development of and lead and drive the standardisation and implementation of key safety and sustainability management system processes.
  • Provide expert HSE technical advice and support compliance with legislative obligations.
  • Lead and/or assist as a technical expert in the investigation into accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes and review and recommend preventive measures.
  • Lead the implementation of injury management and rehabilitation processes supporting injured employees and early return to work programs.

What you will need to succeed?

  • A minimum of five years in a health and safety advisor role, preferably in an automotive-related industry.
  • A tertiary qualification in health and safety and environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist frontline leaders manage rehabilitation and return to work processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in health and safety management and reporting systems.
  • Excellent written, spoken and presentation skills.
  • Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated investigation skills and problem-solving skills, preferably ICAM training or similar.
