About the role

In this dual site and office-based opportunity you will report to the Director, collaborating with a range of PMs. You will support the business on a variety of key projects in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty. You will need to have outstanding people skills, able to communicate with all levels of operations, developing relationships and driving engagement. A pragmatic, get up and go attitude is essential. The role is suited to someone who can function with an elevated level of autonomy, creating positive safety outcomes. Prior experience of working in a construction or infrastructure environment is highly desired.

Duties

• Provide Health and Safety operational support

• Site and document audit

• Drive zero harm philosophy and support culture change initiatives

• Assist and deliver investigations/reports

• Ensure compliance against ISO standards

• Plan and deliver HS training

Skills and experience

As the champion for safety, you must be able to engage with employees and contractors, coaching where needed to ensure practical application of safety and environmental requirements within the business.

• Prior experience within infrastructure or construction is desired

• Confident speaking at toolbox meetings

• ISO Audit experience preferred

• Must be a good decision maker

• Pragmatic approach, able to influence, coach and engage

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Relevant qualification in occupational health and safety

• Full clean, NZ driving license
