About the role and duties

The Health and Safety Manager will report directly to the COO, and work at all levels, including with the Board and Senior Leadership Team.

This role is critical for the ongoing review, development, and monitoring of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing management systems, with a key focus on providing relevant advice for high-risk activities to ensure safe outcomes for all.

Skills and experience required, include:

Formally qualified in Health and Safety, with experience working at a similar level, ideally you will also have worked within an educational environment.

You will have sound knowledge of best practice risk management strategies and practical / working knowledge of legislation, with the proven ability to coach, influence and share knowledge – ensuring safety success, and a thorough understanding throughout the organisation.

• Sound knowledge of risk management strategies associated with outdoor activities

• Proven success and experience in auditing, investigations and providing solutions

• Experienced with Injury Management and ACC

• Demonstrated ability to coach and engage – developing robust relationships with key stakeholders

• Experience working with critical risk programs and modern day safety management
