Hortus is a family-owned business with a specialty in viticulture management, machinery, and labour. We are an ambitious bunch, in a high growth phase, who are not afraid of a challenge. Join us on this exciting journey.
Our operations are expanding, and we are growing our successful and committed team. This new Health and Safety manager will play an integral role in leading our health and safety culture, engaging with our managers and staff to ensure safety is a natural part of what we do. This role leads our H&S activities by developing policies and systems, ensuring they are implemented, demonstrated, and supported throughout all aspects of Hortus across New Zealand.
To thrive in this challenging role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Health and Safety Management with experience in an operational environment, ideally primary industry at a senior advisor level or above. You will have expert knowledge of the Health and Safety legislation and a proven track record in building a culture that supports H&S management. You will have worked with all levels across a business, building effective relationships and both your written and verbal communication skills will be one of your strengths. As we grow the need to travel will increase therefore, we need someone who has flexibility
Let’s cut to the guts of it, yeah, the detail and compliance are important, but to be truly impactful it’s about building meaningful, trusting, and effective relationships across the business to keep our people safe and to gain traction for improvement.
So, what is unique about us you say?? Where to start, first off, our culture is strong, people want to work for us and when they join, they stick around, they are passionate about our purpose as a business and the work they do. We work together, our values are strong, and we live by them; Making a Difference, All together better, Proud of what we do. We measure our impact, last year over 8,000 people in the islands were impacted by the RSE scheme which helps support better schooling, transport, and other resources for a better quality of life.
If these values are aligned with yours and you want career, lifestyle, and a purpose contact Tammie for a confidential discussion on 027 309 8683
