Our client is seeking a new member for their Safety, Health, Environment, Community and Sustainability team

The company

The role

The role of Safety, Health, Environment, Community and Sustainability Coordinator will work alongside the operational and management teams based in their Auckland depot, coordinating the safety requirements of around 100 staff in the North Island. Reporting to the SHECS Manager, you will be part of a nationwide team as well as a contributing member of the wider Australia / NZ SHECS team.

The development of new safety and organisational initiatives means this is an exciting time to join our client on their safety journey.

Duties

* Actively implement Risk Management techniques and processes

* Assist with, participate and lead investigations

* Participate in the design, development and implementation of safe work procedures

* Maintain health and safety records and documentation

* Coordinate and participate in health and safety committee meetings

* Coordinate return to work programmes

* Actively maintain environmental requirements

* Coordinate SHECS training and development

* Lead and participate in tool box talks and meetings

Skills and experience

* Tertiary qualification in OHS or Environment is preferred but not necessary

* Proven experience in a similar role

* Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation

* Practical experience in safety auditing

* Familiarity with ICAM or 5 Why methodology

* Working knowledge of Asia Pacific standards is advantageous

* Highly competent and accurate IT skill

* Strong attention to detail

* Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
