About the role

With flexibility to be based anywhere in NZ, this is a rare and exciting opportunity. Reporting to the General Manager for HSW, you will be providing maternity cover for a period of 9-months. Delivering a level of BAU assurance you will be expected to hit the ground running, offering new ideas and innovation. A highly collaborative and team focused approach is essential. Partnering with operations you will provide specialist advice and guidance, assisting in the development of best practice. There will be a significant focus on engagement with senior leaders and H&S reps across the organisation.

Suitable candidates will be tertiary level qualified and comfortable operating within a large-scale, complex organisation. An ability to work in an autonomous, self-motivated fashion is essential. Preferably will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience, having previously held an advisor or BP level role.

Skills and experience

As the Health and Safety Business Partner, you must be able to engage with employees and contractors, coaching where needed to ensure practical application of health and safety requirements within the business.

• Prior experience of working in a fast-moving, large commercial environment

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Able to coach and mentor safety reps

• Demonstrable experience of ACC and Injury Management processes

• Relevant qualification in occupational health and safety

• Maintain EcoPortal system

• Flexible location (Auckland or Wellington preferred)
