Health and Safety / HR Advisor – Whangarei

Northland Regional Council / $80K to $95K

· Support all aspects of Health, Safety and Wellbeing throughout the organisation

· Mentor, influence, train and plan for sustainable success

· Assist within the HR function

Our client requires a qualified and solid all-rounder to support all aspects of their Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture and compliance

The role

Reporting to the HR Manager, this position sits within the HR and HS Department, Corporate Excellence Group.

Own the role - provide solutions, support and advice throughout the organisation on all matters regarding Health, Safety and Wellbeing. The primary purpose of the role is to provide the relevant advice, training, mentoring and influence in order to achieve sustainable success and a proactive culture.

You will also provide a support function within the HR team.

Duties

· Review, revise and implement to ensure Health and Safety compliance

· Develop in house educational programs and communications to ensure a great level of understanding by all

· Drive a proactive Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture through training, mentoring and influencing at all levels

· Identify, analyse and manage from a risk perspective

· Provide recommendations in collaboration with all areas of the organisation

· Ensure accurate and timely reporting and recording

· Develop and maintain professional, robust and effective relationships both internal and external

· Provide support and timely information to management

Skills and experience

· Relevant qualification (OHS/HR)

· An excellent understanding of legislation, regulations and guidelines

· Collaborative, engaging and influential manner, with a good sense of humour

· Excellent and confident communication skillset, both written and verbal

· Self-motivated and outcome focussed

· Strong analytical skillset and ability to convey relevant information

· Highly developed, fact based decision-making skillset

· Ability to plan and work in a methodical and logical manner

· Confident with training and educating at all levels of an organisation

· Passionate, enthusiastic and high energy levels, with a resilient nature

· Committed to personal CPD through relevant professional body
