Health and Safety Advisor

WPI, a leading manufacturer of mechanical market pulp in Asia Pacific is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor that can work across all our Health and Safety functions, reporting to the Manager Health Safety, Security and Privacy. This opportunity is based at the Karioi Pulpmill and Tangiwai Sawmill, Ohakune, Central North Island.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following competencies and capabilities essential for this role;

- ability to collaborate with teams to maintain our continuous improvement drive in respect to health, safety and well-being.

- support key projects and daily operational activity, ensuring compliance to the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant codes of practice and standards, the WPI Major Accident Prevention Policy and Safety Management system.

- extensive administration skills including minute taking, report and draft policy writing.

- significant, demonstrated use of Microsoft Office and customised software solutions, including safety management system(s). Vault experience is desirable.

- development of internal training materials.

To be successful in this role you will have;

- high energy levels and a flexible and practical approach to workstreams whilst maintaining attention to detail.

- a relevant qualification (Level 4 (or equivalent) at minimum) and demonstrated workplace experience in Health and Safety.

- a strong customer focus with the ability to develop cross functional relationships.

- excellent communication skills.

- a current driver’s license (Restricted at minimum).
