About the role

Located in Oamaru, this role reports to the Site Health and Safety Manager and provides support in implementing a world class standard in health and safety. With around 1000 permanent staff, you’ll provide advice to both management and staff on core safety processes, facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment and assist with investigations as needed. Your varied duties may also include:

• Conducting/assisting with regular audits

• Review and maintenance of registers and documents

• Providing training

• Assisting with project proposals and budgets

• Reporting and trend analysis

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have held a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. As a visible leader for safety, you’ll be adept at building robust relationships, interpreting legislation and have demonstrated success in promoting behavioural change.

• Relevant qualifications in OSH

• ICAM or similar qualification

• Familiarity with ISO standards

• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time
