About the role
Located in Lorneville, close to Invercargill, Alliance Group operate one of the largest sheep and lamb processing plants in the world! Closely aligned with ISO 45001 and with 13 critical risks identified, the business is highly committed to health and safety. You will join a team of 8, which includes an onsite medical team of 5 in ensuring that safety is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
Duties will include partnering with managers and supervisors in the business carrying out ICAM investigations and training of staff as well as carrying out regular audits and ensuring safety standards are being met.
With 1800 staff and numerous functions and critical risks this is a really varied role where no two days will be the same.
Skills and experience
You will enjoy being on the floor engaging and influencing teams to ensure people understand Alliance’s commitment to keeping people safe. You will have excellent knowledge of health and safety with the ability to communicate to people at all levels.
As an MHF facility there are significant regulatory requirements, so you will have a high commitment to detail and procedure while maintaining a pragmatic approach.
Sound knowledge of risk management principles, current Health and Safety legislation and best practice guidelines are part of your DNA – you will have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and have the drive, ambition and relevant qualifications in order to ensure success.
