The opportunity (Karioi Pulpmill and Tangiwai Sawmill)

Winstone Pulp International Limited (WPI) has two operational sites in the Central North Island that manufacture wood pulp products (Karioi Pulpmill, a lower tier Major Hazard Facility) and sawn timber (Tangiwai Sawmill) from renewable plantation pine for domestic and export markets. We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor that can work across all health and safety functions, reporting to the Manager Health Safety, Security and Privacy.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following competencies and capabilities essential for this role;

 ability to support a manager led approach to health and safety.

 support key projects and daily operational activity, ensuring compliance to the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant codes of practice and standards, the WPI Major Accident Prevention Policy and Safety Management system.

 extensive administration skills including minute taking, report and draft policy writing.

 significant, demonstrated use of Microsoft Office and customised software solutions, including safety management system(s). Damstra experience is desirable.

 development of internal training materials.

To be successful in this role you will have;

 high energy levels and a flexible and practical approach to workstreams whilst maintaining attention to detail.

 NZISM membership, with evidence of CPD and, registered with HASANZ or be working towards this.

 a strong customer focus with the ability to develop cross functional relationships.

 excellent communication skills.

 a current driver’s license (Restricted at minimum) and personal transport to get to and from work
