About the opportunity

An exciting 12 months fixed-term contract has come about for a Health & Safety Advisor supporting our Te Rapa site in the Waikato. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager this role will give you the opportunity to develop your health & safety career with plenty of variety and challenge.

In this role you will work closely with our other Te Rapa HS Advisor and site teams to guide on best practice health and safety. You will strive for the continuous improvement of our health and safety capability and support the pro-active management of risks and incident investigations.

As a part of a broader Health and Safety community with plenty of exposure and variety, you will also have the opportunity to guided and mentored by seasoned H&S Advisors, setting you up for success.

Please note that occasionally you might be required to work from other Fonterra sites in the Waikato region – so flexibility is required.

About You

Whilst Health & Safety experience is advantageous, above all we are looking for someone with a great attitude, a passion for Health & Safety and a desire to learn. You will naturally be a relationship-builder and have strong investigation as well as problem solving skills.

To make an impact in this role you will have:

• Ability to instill trust across a diverse workforce and establish meaningful relationships with stakeholders

• Systems savvy – comfortable creating spreadsheets and quickly learn how to navigate around our H&S management system

• Coaching, mentoring and influencing skills, ability to facilitate discussion

• Adaptable to change and ambiguity

• Exposure to hazardous substances management and legislation is desirable

• Exposure in hazardous risk assessments and H&S event plans is beneficial but not required
