Based in Timaru, this is a great opportunity for any H&S professional to move into a energetic, fast paced workplace who puts safety above everything else! This is a hands-on role and you'll be tasked with maintaining and creating a health and safety conscious workforce throughout the organisation. As part of the compliance team, your role within this organisation will be crucial ensuring the risk of accidents and injury to the staff and public are minimised or eliminated.

This is a busy and varied role where you'll be supporting the wider operations team in day to day Health and safety including, awareness, culture, wellbeing, coaching, implementing new initiatives, their is also the component of auditing and compliance. This role has the potential to develop and further expand into Environmental, sustainability, Quality.

About you:

An experienced H&S professional who is keen to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Ideally you will have a good deal of functional and technical knowledge and skills.

Quick thinking and decisive, being able to make good decisions under pressure and can deal with multiple things simultaneously.

Problem solver, using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.

Accountable and trustworthy, can be counted on to exceed the goals of the organisation, goal oriented and can push themselves and others for results.

Desired Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 2-3 years in a Health and Safety advisory role

A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety would be ideal.

Good industry knowledge and experience is preferred.

Working knowledge of health and safety legislation

Sound understanding of Risk Management and its application.

Willingness to learn the industry from the teams
