About the role

As a key member of the ELT, responsible for setting and implementing the Health and Safety strategy and framework, you will also develop and maintain standards and programmes nationwide to ensure proactive buy in and therefore compliance.

An ability to travel for the role is essential.

Duties include:

• Strategic planning and implementation

• Leadership of high performing and engaged team

• Drive and model best practice, provide specialist advice and practical and support

• Provide management and assurance, including audits and reporting

Skills and experience

You will currently be working at a senior level and ready for that next step. Experienced in a pure Health and Safety role, with qualifications to suit, we anticipate you will come from a high-risk background and be well versed in providing strategic advice and working in a highly proactive manner.

• Relevant tertiary level qualification desired

• Working knowledge of legislation and interaction with the regulator

• Experienced in creating strategic direction and implementation

• Proven capability in lifting safety performance

• Excellent knowledge of risk mitigation and critical programs

• ACC Partnership Program experience is highly desired

• Proven leadership skills, mentoring and influencing to achieve success

• Previous experience in a strategic role

• Trades, maintenance, construction or infrastructure experience is welcome
