Partner with your team and site leadership to drive health, safety and environmental improvement in this wood product industry leader.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role acts as the source of expert knowledge to drive ongoing improvement in the Environmental, Health, Safety and Risk space and support a safe work environment. Ensure accurate and timely EHS communication across the site

As part of the senior leadership team, you will work with your EHS team to develop a genuinely positive and energetic safety culture on site. Based in Tokoroa, you’ll be within commuting distance from surrounding areas including Rotorua, Tauranga and Hamilton.

Duties

• Provide support and advice to regional sites and divisions

• Conduct site assessments and audits and implement improvement changes where necessary

• Validate and monitor EHS improvement plans

• Manage and maintain the contractor database

• Implement EHS initiatives and policies

• Coordinate and deliver site training

• Participate in project management

Skills and experience

• Relevant health and safety qualification

• Proven experience as a mentor and coach

• Significant knowledge of NZ OSH and environmental legislation

• Experience in a similar large manufacturing industry is preferred

• Auditing / reporting background is an advantage
