Play a pivotal role to develop, drive, lead, co-ordinate and facilitate the company’s health, safety and wellness program

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to drive, lead, co-ordinate and facilitate the company’s health, safety and wellness programs to ensure a cultural maturity is achieved through attitudes and behaviours, as well as compliance with legislation and relevant regulations, codes of practice, etc. Ensuring fit for purpose systems and processes to achieve the business objectives and when benchmarked, meeting the requirements for best practice.

Duties

• Advocate and facilitate a health, safety and wellness culture through effective leadership

• Management of all health, safety and wellness programs

• Contractor Management – provide a collaborative environment to ensure sustainable compliance

• Management of accident/incident investigations, reporting, analysing and ensuring solutions are implemented that prevent further occurrences

• Hazard and Risk Management – ensure critical risks are identified and controlled, maintaining a central register to cover all situations and corrective actions in a proactive manner

• Injury Management – establish, monitor and maintain systems to encourage proactive early reporting and provide support for all regarding return to work/rehabilitation plans

• Provide accurate and timely reporting of data, ensuring key stakeholders are kept up to date with significant HSW issues

• Oversee health and wellbeing initiatives

• Coordinate and maintain regular contact with all Wellness providers, ensuring robust programs are in place

Skills and experience

The key to your success will be a strong and proven ability to understand culture and mindset in relation to developing a proactive safety culture.

You will provide the leadership and coaching required, to encourage ownership and accountability throughout the organisation. You will also ensure the vision of caring for each other is reinforced and demonstrated in all that is done.

• Demonstrated and practical working knowledge of legislation

• Experience as a lead auditor

• Analytical with an outcome focussed attitude

• Practical and credible personality with a strong ability to influence and motivate to do the right thing
