The new joint Horizons Regional Council / Palmerston North City Council (PNCC) emergency management facility is due to open in December 2019. It's located on the top floor of the building named Te Ao Nui located next door to Horizons Regional Council in Victoria Avenue, Palmerston North. The facility comprises common spaces and separate Emergency Operations Centres for Horizons and PNCC.
The building has been constructed to Importance Level 4 (IL4) standard because it's essential to post-disaster recovery. It includes some sophisticated design and monitoring equipment to ensure it remains operational after an earthquake or other significant event.
Ross Brannigan from Horizons Emergency Management will make a short presentation on the Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) to set the scene for the tour.

Please note there is no public parking at Te Ao Nui itself so you may need to arrive early to find a park. Meet at the building entrance at 4.00 pm but if you arrive late give Evan Lloyd a call on 021 2277 207.
