As we adjust to our new ‘normal’ in the workplace, it is timely to consider what health and safety advice is needed for organisations to manage the pace and nature of return to individual needs. There is an opportunity to avoid re-stabilising to a ‘pre COVID’ normal, and adapt previous psychosocial and mental health programmes, building on the increased understanding of the importance of health on work. Tim will provide and develop different examples of how to navigate the many changes we have had to adapt to since coronavirus and COVID-19 entered our everyday lives. Part of that discussion will be to consider the wider conversation about the impact of health on work.
With a health and safety career spanning the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Tim Barry has extensive experience in the development and implementation of HSE risk management strategies and initiatives across a wide range of industries. With a view that workplace psychological injury prevention programmes are as important as physical injury prevention, Tim has led health and safety programs in large organisations aimed at lifting the level of performance in risk management and lead to better safety outcomes for the business. Tim provided insight into achieving improved workplace psychological safety at last October's NZ Mental Health conference. You can find out more about him on his LinkedIn profile.
