Bill has been a safety advocate for Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and presents his unique story to workplaces in Australia and New Zealand. He has worked in the safety field for many years. He has also worked for the Queensland Government , Australia Post, Bunnings, Brisbane Catholic Education and is now here in Nelson, New Zealand.
Bill presents the emotional story of his son Tim who died at the age of 17. Tim was working in close proximity to overhead power lines when he received an electric shock. 4 weeks later Tim died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
Bill works full time as a Safety Manager and also visits workplaces as a safety advocate. Bill encourages workers, supervisors and business owners to make electrical safety and workplace safety a priority. The emphasis of Bill's presentation is on the personal impacts that an injury can have on workers and their families.
Bill shares Tim’s tragic story to inspire people to better understand the unique safety requirements of young workers.
