Building on your foundational knowledge

The Masterclass comprises TWO workshops: a half-day in-person workshop to show you how to conduct a psychosocial risk assessment in your workplace, and a two-hour online follow-up workshop to help you with follow through from your risk assessment and next actions.

The Masterclass leads on from the success of our introductory workshops to psychosocial risk, which were last year.

Feedback from participants was, "it was great, I understand what 'mentally healthy work' could look like now but how do I apply these ideas to my own organisation?"

In response, Umbrella Wellbeing and NZISM have designed the Masterclass to give you the practical tools, knowledge and support to make a difference in your own workplace.

Included in your Masterclass

  • Two sessions facilitated by leading clinical psychologists.
  • Detailed explanation of psychosocial risk assessment using Umbrella Wellbeing’s methodology (aligned with ISO 45003).
  • Update on recent New Zealand case law on the topic.
  • Deep-dives into the four core areas of psychosocial risk (learning how to identify, assess, control, and evaluate risks in your organisation).
  • An action plan to implement in your workplace and a follow-up session to discuss.
  • Discussions with your colleagues working in the same industries and “out of the box" insights from colleagues in different industries.
  • Online tools and free digital resources.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand the business case and legal responsibilities for managing psychosocial risks.
  • Become familiar with the Umbrella psychosocial risk framework and ISO 45003 standards.
  • Learn how to identify and assess potential psychosocial risks in your organisation.
  • Identify effective controls to eliminate or mitigate psychosocial risks in your organisation.
  • Understand how to monitor psychosocial risks on an ongoing basis.
  • Determine the starting steps to managing psychosocial risk in your organisation.
